Our Hong Kong trip in December 2010, we went to Aberdeen Harbour and took the Sampan ride. The ride went through the floating village, floating restaurants and their shelter.
Aberdeen is in the South of Hong Kong and the largest outside the urban area. It is known for Hong Kong boat people literally lived on boat in the 1960's and 70's.
The Harbor is mainly anchored by the modern yachts though, there are floating restaurants and fishermen still use the bay, And there are still few living on boat in the harbour.
